At Acer’s Global press event, Acer introduces the ICONIA dual-screen tablet notebook with all-point multi-touch functionality. The ICONIA is like a bigger version of Toshiba’s dual7-inch Libretto W100, boasting two bigger 14-inch glossy touchscreens with 10 finger multi-touch. The notebook is the world’s 10 finger multi-touch dual-screen notebook. Both screens are of 14-inch and feature 1366×768 resolution, LED-backlit and Gorilla Glass for scratch and fingerprint resistant.

As reported before, Toshiba introduces its dual screen libretto W100, the next-gen ultra mobile concept PC that “goes beyond slates and netbooks”. The W100 is basically an ultra compact netbook equipped with two 7-inch multitouch displays with 1024×600 resolution. The bottom screen can be used as a virtual keyboardor virtual touchpad with haptic feedback . Six keyboard modes are provided such as simple, full, numeric 10-key and split thumb.

According to Digitimes, Toshiba will announced later a dual-screen notebook codenamed GuideBook that has two 7-inch displays. No details of the device are mentioned but I would expect a tablet or an e-book reader from Toshiba.

Lenovo officially announced the new Thinkpad W701 and W701ds mobile workstation, which serve as the follow-up to the W700 and W700ds. As the most powerful ThinkPad, the W701 and W701ds are equipped with Intel’s Core i7 series processor and NVIDIA Quadro FX 2800 and 3800 Series graphics.

GScreen is planning to launch in Q4 2009 its Spacebook dual-screen notebook, which is based on the design of the gScreen G400. The Spacebook is the first dual screen laptop with two 15.6-inch LED-backlit LCD display.

The ThinkPad W700ds is probably the world’s first dual display laptop with a 17-inch main display and a 10-inch slide-out secondary display. The ThinkPad W700ds, like previously leaked, is powered by Intel’s most advanced processors (probably Core 2 Extreme quad core), up to 8GB of RAM and NVIDIA Quadro FX mobile graphics.
