The true home cinema enthusiast has probably been waiting for a player to arrive with HDMI 1.3, 1080p output and an Ethernet port. Yes there are a few issues with startup and load times, as well as a lack of responsiveness in menus, but those small niggles can’t take the shine off this player.

We have seen some new DIGA HDD/DVD recorders, now here are the 3-in-1 recorders from Panasonic, DIGA DMR-XW41V, DMR-XP21V supporting HDD, DVD and VHS.

The Panasonic DIGA DMR-XW41V has 500GB hard drive space and supports recording in hard drive, VHS tape and DVD-RAM, DVD-R/RW, DVD-R DL. It supports playback from DVD-RAM, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, DVD+/-R Dual Layer and music CDs.

The DMR-XW41V supports 1080i output, and has 100BASE-TX LAN and a SD card supproting SDHC and SD Audio

Other than the 1TB DMR-XW51, Panasonic has also DMR-XW31, DMR-XP11 recorder. The Panasonic DIGA DMR-XW31 has 500GB hard drive capacity, and supports recording in DVD-RAM (at 2-5x), DVD-R (at 1-16x), DVD-R DL (at 2-8x) and DVD-RW (at 1-6x) and playback from DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW and DVD-RAM.

DIGA DMR-XW31 supports 1080i(1125i) output, iLink output and input, 100BASE-TX LAN, and it has SD card slot supporting SDHC and SD Audio.

The Panasonic DMR-XP11 is another HDD/DVD recorder with 250GB hard drive capacity. It has also an SD card slot supporting SDHC.

The DMR-XW31 will be available in April 1 while DMR-XP11 in March 1.

Panasonic announed two portable DVD players, the DVD-LS80-K and DVD-LX87-K. Panasonic DVD-LX87-K is not only a DVD player, it features also an 1Seg digital TV tuner.

Both of the DVD-LX87-K and DVD-LS80-K supports wide range of media, from JPEG to DVD-Video, from SD card to DVD+/-R Dual layer. They have a 8.5-inch LCD screen, and a SD card slot supporting SDHC.

Other than the DC50 DVD Camcorder, Canon has also the DC210 Camcorder. The Canon DC210 features the DIVIC DV II processor, a 35x optical zoom, 1000x digital zoom, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 2.7-inch widescreen LCD display.

The Canon DC210 DVD camcorder is expected to be available in early March and the price is $399.

There is also Canon DC220 DVD Camcorder which builds on the basis of the DC210. It adds a nine-point AiAF autofocus, and a miniSD memory card slot.

Last one is the Canon DC230 DVD Camcorder, other than features added into DC220, the DC230 has also a 1.07 megapixel CCD image sensor.
