Nikon brings a new entry-level DSLR camera, the D3200 joining the D3100. While the D3100 packs 14.2 Megapixel sensor and ISO 100-3200, the new D3200 is equipped with a 24.2 Megapixel Nikon DX-format CMOS image sensor, and supports ISO 100-6200 and a Hi 1 setting equivalent to ISO 12800. It also sports EXPEED 3 image processing engine with “high performance that enables faithful rendering, vivid color reproduction, and expression of a broad dynamic range.”

Along with the EOS 600D / Rebel T3i, Canon brings also the EOS 1100D / Rebel T3 / Kiss X50 entry-level digital SLR camera providing a more attractively priced option for those looking to experience the pleasure of shooting with a DSLR camera. Like the 600D, the 1100D also offers Feature Guide.

Canon announced the new EOS 600D / Rebel T3i / Kiss X5 entry-level digital SLR camera, which is the successor to the EOS Rebel T2i / 550D. Designed for beginning photographers, the 600D/T3i includes the new Feature Guide instruction that will walk Rebel T3i users through functions and provide recommendations for various settings, a great hands-on learning tool; and the Scene Intelligent Auto mode for point-and-shoot users.

Nikon releases the new D3100 entry-level digital SLR camera, the successor to the D3000. The D3100 features 14.2 Megapixel Nikon DX-format CMOS image sensor, the new EXPEED 2 image processing engine, ISO 100-3200 (up 12800) and a 3-inch LCD display. As a DSLR for beginner, the D3100 has the Guide Mode, an in-camera guidance that shows you step-by-step how to change camera settings.

Pentax launches eight new colors for its K-x digital SLR camera. Joining the original White, Black, Red, and Navy colors, Pentax brings Chocolate, Beige, Olive, Pink, Purple, Blue, Green and Orange. All of them come as kit with DA L 18-55 lens. Each of them is priced at $649.95.

Sony announced two new additions to its α (Alpha) digital SLR range, the entry-level DSLR-A390 and DSLR-A290 desogned for first-time DSLR users. The A390 and A290 both feature 14.2 Megapixel image sensor, 40-segment honeycomb-pattern SPC exposure system, image-sensor shift mechanism SteadyShot image stabilization system, built-in flASH and a 2.7-inch LCD screen.

Canon China introduces the EOS 550D Jackie Chan Eye of Dragon special edition. The camera body comes with gold Dragon logo of Jackie Chan, who is Canon’s spokesperson in China. The Jackie Chan kit includes a Canon EF-S 180145MM lens, a camera case, a strap and an album book, all with Jackie’s logo (except the lens).

Canon introduces the EOS 550D (aka EOS Kiss X4 in Japan and EOS Rebel T2i in the US) Digital DSLR camera as the follow-up to the EOS 500D. As Canon’s latest entry-level DSLR, the 550D sports a 18 Megapixel APS-C CMOS image sensor, DIGIC 4 image processor and ISO 100-6400 (expandable to 12,800).

Sony introduces a new member of its Alpha DLSR line, the entry-level Alpha a450 that sit in between the a500 and a350. The camera is equipped with Sony’s 14.2 Megapixel Exmor CMOS image sensor and BIONZ image processing engine. It also offers Auto HDR in-camera high dynamic range imaging.

Olympus announced the new E-600 entry-level digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera that can be considered as a lite version of the E-620 without backlit buttons, multiple exposures, aspect ratios and comes with few art filters.
