LaptopMag gives us a review on the Fujitsu LifeBook U810 (aka U1010 in Asia market) UMPC. Fujitsu LifeBook U810 is powered by an Intel Pentium A110 800MHz processor, 51GB of RAM, 40GB of hard drive and integrated Intel GMA 945 graphics.

U810 has a 5.6-inch LCD display, and it supports WiFi 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth connectivity. It comes with a Type I/II CF Card slot and a SD Card slot. U810 runs the Windows Vista Home Premium.

As far as UMPCs go, the U810 is a pretty strong contender, and you can’t beat the price for a unit with a usable built-in keyboard and Tablet functionality. It’s sleeker than the FlipStart, which is the only other clamshell unit on the market and costs $1,000 more but offers EV-DO. The OQO model 02 is even sleeker but costs about $300 more with integrated EV-DO. If you’ve been thinking about dipping your toe into the UMPC waters, the Fujitsu LifeBook U810 is an affordable way to do so, but some may want to wait for the mobile broadband version.

LifeBook A6030 features also a DVD+/-RW DL burner, a 15.4-inch LCD display with 1280×800 resolution, wIfI 802.11a/b/g/n and a SD card reader.

Notebook Review’s Conclusion
While I do think that the performance and absolutely beautiful screen make the A6030 a killer laptop, the quirky keyboard and touchpad spoil this review as a whole. Since user control is very important with any laptop, clunky interfaces can mess up even the best machines. Barring some sort of software update for this touchpad that allowed for better sensitivity adjustment so tracking wasn’t as sporadic, I would recommend not opting for the “Point and Write” feature, in hopes that the standard version would have better control.

If you prefer to use an external keyboard and mouse then the Fujitsu LifeBook A6030 makes an excellent desktop replacement.

Fujitsu launches in Japan the new Lifebook P8240 ultra portable tablet PC. Fujitsu Lifebook P8240 is powered by an Intel Core Solo U1400 1.2GHz processor or Celeron M 1.2GHz processor, 256MB to 1GB RAM, integrated GMA950 graphics and 30GB hard drive. The P8240 has a 8.9-inch with 1280×768 resolution.
