T-Mobile G1 by HTC

Finally, T-Mobile introduces the new Google Android-powered smartphone, G1 that is made by HTC. The G1 is also known as the HTC Dream and we have seen some leaked pictures of it.

The T-Mobile G1 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz processor, 256MB ROM and 192MB RAM. It features a 3.2-inch LCD touch display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, integrated GPS receiver, WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth and a 3.2 Megapixle camera.

T-Mobile G1/HTC Dream supports WCDMA 3G, HSDPA as well as quad-band GSM networks. It has a microSD card slot.

HTC Dream G1 Android Phone

Here are some more details about the HTC Dream G1 smartphone that runs Google’s Android OS. It looks like the phone will be available from T-Mobile with 3G UMTS and HSDPA support. It is powered by a Qualcomm 7201 528MHz processor, 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen display, WiFi 802.11b/g, a 3.1 Megapixel camera, and a microSD card slot.

Other than the phone, there is also the Android Market, an iPhone App Store-like martketplace for developers to sell and users to download applications. After the break, you can find some screenshots for Android Market.

Android SDK v0.9 Video and Screenshots

Android-powered Phone does Quake

Andy Rubin, head of Android, showed us a demo of the Android OS to BBC’s Darren Waters. The phone is running at 300MHz and it is capable for playing Quake and showing Google Maps Street View.
It’s not perfect, but it’s also not ready for prime time, so we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt on some of the janky-looking elements of the OS.

Hong Kong company, E28, showed a phone running Google’s Android mobile platform at the Mobile World Congree. The phone is running at 200MHz and has only 64MB Flash and 64MB RAM.
