Sony Ericsson Xperia NX SO-02D Black

Sony Ericsson (going to drop Ericsson) announced at the CES 2012 the new Xperia S, which according to the company is the “first smartphone from the new Xperia NXT series – next generation smartphones from Sony”. As the next flagship of the Xperia lineup, the new phone is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz MSM8260 processor with 1GB of RAM. The new Xperia’s transparent element at the base creates an iconic silhouette where the display is emphasized and underlined. In addition, it provides illumination effects and integrates the antenna components.

Polaroid has just announced its new SC1630 Smart Camera at the CES 2012. While Polaroid is known for making instant cameras, the new SC1630 is not just a camera but combines smartphone with a 16 Megapixel camera. It features a 16 Megapixel CCD sensor and 3x optical zoom lens and offers 18 scene modes.

Huawei announced at the CES 2012 the world’s slimmest smatphone, the Ascend P1 S that measures just 6.68mm thin. Powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortex-A9 processor, the Ascend P1 S runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with 940×540 resolution and Gorilla Glass.

Following the first PRADA phone and PRADA II, LG and PRADA extend their partnership, introducing the PRADA Phone by LG 3.0. Styled with PRADA’s clean and sharp design philosophy, the handset features a full glossy touchscreen to the front and PRADA’s signature Saffiano pattern to the back, all finished in classic black. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread OS with a PRADA UI, with a future scheduled upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

LG is launching in China market a new entry-level Android smartphone, the Optimus Glar E510. Boosted by 800MHz single core processor and 512MB of RAM, the phone runs Android 2.3.4 with LG’s custom UI. The E510 has a 3.5-inch 320×480 touchscreen and a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera. There are no LED flash and front camera, though.

Motorola is launching in China the XT928 Android smartphone for China Telecom. Coming in this December, the XT928 is the King of Multimedia according to Motorola. It features a 4.6-inch 1280×720 HD touchscreen, a 13 Megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, and Dolby Digital Plus audio technology, delivering  a “mobile multimedia you’ve never experienced it before”.

Korean e-book company is launching in Korea its e-book reading device using Mirasol display. The e-book reader features a 5.7-inch Qualcomm Mirasol display that combines the strength of LCD and e-ink, making it able to display colors and be viewed in direct sunlight.

Verizon Wireless is launching the Samsung Illusion, a mid-range Android smartphone. Boosted by a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, the phone is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with Swype quick input technology. It comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity.
