Sony Bravia KDL-52W4500 is a 52-inch LCD HDTV. It features a 1920×1080p Full HD resolution, 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, built-in digital TV tuner. It offers three HDMI1.3 connectors, D-sub port for pC input, USB port, PCMCIA slott, two SCARTs, Sony’s Digital Media port and DLNA Ethernet port.

The 52W4500 gets mighty close to being a bona fide big-screen superstar, it really does. And it’s not even all that expensive considering its combination of a huge size and Sony badging. But in the end those damn pools of grey light cropped up just often enough to turn a potential love affair into a case of ‘just good friends’.

Given how far many brands have come with their LCD TVs in the course of 2007, we genuinely had our doubts as we approached the Planar PD470 that there was still room for a self-styled premium TV. But the PD470’s picture quality justifies its high price quite superbly.
