HP’s TouchSmart IQ770 is the first PC from HP to feature touchscreen display. The HP TouchSmart IQ770 is powered by an AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-52 1.6GHz processor, 2GB off RAM, 320GB SATA hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics.
The HP TouchSmart IQ770 is said to be the ‘iMac Killer’ and it features also a DVD±RW / DVD-RAM burner with LightScribe, WiFi, Bluetooth, integrated 1.3 megapixel camera, 5.1 sound output, integrated FM and DVB-T and ATSC HDTV tuners. The internal card reader supports CF, MicroDrive, SD, MMC, Memory Stick and xD cards.
The IQ770 has been reviewed by Trusted Reviews:
HP has done a very good job of creating a home machine with all the bells and whistles. They’re well integrated and in general make the PC easier to use than most Media Center devices I’ve examined. There’s a price premium on the TouchSmart IQ770 and even with GBP100 off when buying from Comet, GBP1,200 would buy you a much higher spec conventional PC. This is horses for courses, though, as the HP machine is ideally suited to a family environment or for preventing starship core breaches.
