iLuv Japan shows the IM-1ST002U/W USB TV (aka Time TV) for Macintosh. The TV Tuner connects your Mac via USB 2.0 and you can use Apple Remote to change the channel. It supports the Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) which allows you to program your Mac to record your favorite program.

The iLuv IM-1ST002U/W USB TV Tuner measures 23×94.2×9.8mm and weights 22 grams, and it works with Mac OS X 10.4 or above. It will hit the store at late Feb and priced at 14,800 Yen ($ 122).

Here is the classical 3D animation, Pencil Test. The animation is created on an Apple Macintosh II with Super3D software. Watch the video after the jump.
In 1988, Apple was eager to show off the graphics power of its Macintosh II line of computers. Using a program called Super3D, a group of talented artists produced “Pencil Test,” an animated short created entirely on the Macintosh. Keep in mind that QuickTime did not exist in 1988; the movie was output frame by frame to an imagesetter, and then recorded to film.

Apple has created the “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” Ad series both in Japan and US. Now Apple creates also the UK version of the ads. The Ads features Mitchell as a PC and Webb as Mac, while both of them are from the Peep Show.

1984 Apple announced the First Macintosh

23 Years ago, in 24 Jan 1984, Steve Jobs announced the first Macintosh Computer. Check out the video after the jump.
Named after the McIntosh variety of apple, the original Macintosh was released on January 24, 1984. It was one of the first commercially successful personal computers to use a graphical user interface (GUI) and mouse instead of the then-standard command line interface.

The Mac itself went on sale for US$2,495, two days after the ad aired. It came bundled with two useful programs designed to show off its interface: MacWrite and MacPaint.
