Magellan Maestro 4050 GPS Device Video Review

June 9th, 2007 by Sze | 1 Comment | Filed in GPS

Gizmodo gives us a video review on the Magellan Maestro 4050 car navigation device which is the first voice-command portable GPS device.

Magellan Maestro 4050 has a 4.3-inch WQVGA touchscreen, and is powered by SiRF Star III GPS chipset. It offers real-time traffic alerts, “Bluetooth hands-free phone calling capabilities and advanced voiced routing directions via Magellan’s SayWhere text-to-speech function”.
Voice command and the traffic kit differentiate the 4050 from the Maestro 4040. Are they worth a $200 premium? It’s hard to say. I like Magellan’s new Maestro systems for sure, but others will soon have voice recognition, and only then will we know if Magellan’s is better or worse.
