Velocity introduced at the CES 2012 its Shine, a HD pocket projector capable of 720p. The affordable, compact device is based on DLP display technology and is able to project 1280×768 WXGA images with 2,000:1 contrast ratio and 300 lumens of brightness with LED RGB illumination. It is 3D-ready.

BenQ brings to its Joybee line the new GP2 ultra portable mini projector with multimedia functionality. Based on DLP projection system, the GP2 features 1280×800 native resolution and 3LED lamp with  up to 30,000 hours of life. It has 2400:1 contrast ratio and 200 ANSI lumens brightness.

Dell introduces the M110 ultra mobile projector that easily fits in the palm of your hand and weighs less than a pound. Based on DLP technology, the pico projector features 1280×800 WXGA native resolution, 10000:1 contrast ratio, 300 ANSI lumens brightness and LED light source with up to 20,000 hours of lifescycle.

Here is one of the cheapest pico projector we’ve seen, the SVP PP003 that is available at Amazon for $99. The PP003 utilizes LCoS technology with LED backlighting. It can project images from 6-inch to 54-inch. The projector has built-in media player for video, music and photo playback from SD memory card and USB storage.

iGo, maker of portable battery charger, introduces the UP-2020 palm-sized pocket projector based on DLP display technology. iGo’s pico projector features 854×480 native resolution and is able to project a viewable screen up to 70 inches. It has 20 ANSI lumens and LED light source with up to 20,000 hours of life.

3M PocketProjector MP160

3M brings two new pico projectors for business users, the PocketProjector MP160 and the PocketProjector MP180. Both palm-sized projectors offer SVGA resolution and 30 lumens brightness with LED. They have integrated integrated speakers and audio out.
