Motorola Ming A1200 Linux Phone

Targeting on Big China market, the Motorola A1200 gets its chinese name “明” which pronounces as “ming” and has the meaning of ‘Bright’ or ‘Wise’. The phone runs on Linux OS with Intel Xscale PXA270 and it features a 2.4″ 260k colours screen, 2 Megapixel Camera which can also perform business cards scan function. The phone has built-in memory for only 8MB but it supports 512 MB T-Flash memory card. As a PDA phone, A1200 comes with Chinese-English Dictionary, Ofiice applications and also MSN Messenger. The device also supports MP3 and MPEG4 playback, bluetooth and A2DP. The phone is available in Taiwan in 16/3/2006 with the price $16800 Taiwan Dollar which is around 516 USD.
