Sprint is launching the new LG Optimus Elite entry-level smartphone that is eco-friendly. The device is ULE Platinum Certified for highest level of environmental performance, and is also CarbonFree certified to offset the carbon footprint of the phone’s full lifecycle. It also eliminated the use of many environmentally sensitive materials, including polyvinyl chloride (PVC), brominated flame retardants (BFR), halogen, beryllium, phthalates, and nickel, and comes in fully recyclable packaging.

If you look at LG’s line-up for the MWC 2012, each phone has its own selling point, 3D, NFC, and quad-core. What LG’s Optimus Vu is selling is probably its large 5-inch display that comes in 4:3 aspect ratio, unlike most touchscreen smartphones. The 4:3 5-inch display offers a tablet-like viewing, making makes viewing documents, books, internet and multimedia contents easier and more comfortable. Ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012, LG introduces the world’s first quad-core smartphone – the Optimus 4X HD. The powerful smartphone is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processor featuring the unique 4-PLUS-1 design for high-level multimedia performance that utilizes a fifth batterysaver core to handle less demanding tasks such as active standby and music playback. The Tegra 3 is also equipped with a 12-core GPU to deliver rich gaming experience. The phone has 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory.

LG is launching in China market a new entry-level Android smartphone, the Optimus Glar E510. Boosted by 800MHz single core processor and 512MB of RAM, the phone runs Android 2.3.4 with LG’s custom UI. The E510 has a 3.5-inch 320×480 touchscreen and a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera. There are no LED flash and front camera, though.

Cricket launches its first smartphone from LG, the Optimus C Android phone. Just like Optimus S from Sprint and Optimus V from Virgin Mobile USA, the Optimus C is an entry-level Android smartphone. It packs a 600MHz processor and runs Android 2.2.

LG Optimus ME P350

LG is going to release two new entry-level Android smartphones, the Optimus ME P350 (aka Pecan) and the Optimus CHAT C550. Both models have a compact form factor and come with a 2.8-inch touchscreen and a 3 Megapixel camera.

Other than the Galaxy S 4G, T-Mobile also announced more details of the LG G-Slate 4G tablet device with Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The device, known as Optimus Pad outside the US, supports T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network and WiFi connectivity. It is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra dual-core 1GHz processor and comes with 32GB internal memory.
