Ricoh introduces its new GR DIGITAL IV digital camera, the follow-up to the GR DIGITAL III. The new model features enhanced Quick Shooting capability and image quality. The new model is equipped with a 28mm/F1.9 GR Lens, the GR ENGINE III, and a high-sensitivity 10 Megapixel CCD image sensor. Featuring the Hybrid AF system, which is used in parallel with the conventional CCD contrast AF, the GR DIGITAL IV offers an AF focusing time as short as 0.2 seconds for quick shooting.

Ricoh adds to its CX line the new CX5 model with the new Hybrid AF system and 10.7x optical zoom lens. With the new Hybrid AF system, the CX5 has a higher auto focus speed than other CX models. Its AF focusing times are decreased to as low as 0.2 sec. for both wide-angle 28 mm and telephoto 300 mm, up to half as short compared to the CX4.

Ricoh launches the new CX4 compact digital camera with a high-power 10.7x optical zoom lens with 28mm wide angle. It features the new  “subject-tracking AF” auto focus system that automatically tracks your subject, ensuring that photographs are in focus and correctly exposed whenever you choose to release the shutter. There’s also improved image-sensor-shift image stabilization that helps reduce blur.

Ricoh launches its all-new G700 rugged digital camera, created for demanding professionals, that is IPX8 water-, dust-, and shock- resistant and is also chemical resistant. The 12.1 Megapixel G700 features a 5x optical zoom lens with 28mm wide angle, 1cm macro, 3-inch LCD display and a SD/SDHC card slot with SD WORM (write once read many) card support.

Ricoh announced the successor to the CX2, the CX3 compact digital camera, which is equipped with a 10 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS image sensor and a 28mm wide angle lens with 10.7x optical zoom. It includes the noise reduction algorithm introduced on the GR DIGITAL III for better image quality.
