Sony launches in Asia its new Handycam HDR-GW77, a rugged pocket Full HD camcorder. The GW77 is more or less the same as its brother GW55, but adds 16GB internal memory in addition to support for Memory Stick Micro and MicroSD/SDHC memory cards. It is waterproof up to 5 meter depth, shockproof against up to 1.5 meter fall and dustproof. Like the GW55, the camcorder is equipped with a 1/3.91 type 20.4 Megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and a Sony G Lens lens with 10x optical zoom.

Samsung’s newly released Pocket Cam HMX-W300 rugged camcorder may be what you want. Sony launches the new Bloggie Sport HD, a rugged 1080p Full HD video camcorder. The pocket camera is equipped with a 5.03 Megapixel Exmor CMOS image sensor and a F2.8 optics. With leather-like rubber bumper, it is waterproof down to 16 feet, and is shockproof to withstand up to 5 foot drop. It also has dirt and dust resistant seals that help make it nearly impervious to mud, snow, rain, and grime.

Sony is launching in Europe market a new waterproof Handycam digital camcorder, the GW55VE with Full HD capability. Made for everyday adventures, the pocket-sized IP58 rugged camcorder is waterproof to depths of 5m. shockproof to withstand drops from 1.5 meters (meets MIL-STD 810F Method 516.5-Shock standard) and dustproof. It records Full HD 1920x1080p videos at 50fps in MPEG4-AVC/H.264 AVCHD format.

Samsung introduces the HMX-W200 Pocket Cam, a bar-type multi-proof pocket Full HD camcorder for capturing video in the tough conditions. The camcorder’s multi-proof includes waterproof up to 3 meters and shockproof to withstand 2 meter and dustproof. It has anti-water drop coating and anti-fog coating on its lens.
