Sharp introduces a new XV-Z30000 3D HD DLP home theater projector ideal for people who looking for high-quality home theater experience. It features 50,000:1 contrast ratio an 1600 ANSI lumens brightness, and is equipped with Sharp’s proprietary digital image ICs to reproduce high quality 3D picture with low cross talk and flicker.

Sharp introduced at the CES 2012 two new Blu-ray players, the BD-AMS10U and BD-AMS20U with the new SmartCentral smart interface offering access to apps and online content. Both models are wireless LAN ready for streaming content from services like Netflix, VUDU and YouTube. They have USB port for connecting external hard drive for media playback.

Sharp expands its AQUOS line with the new Freestyle AQUOS portable LCD TV and the first model to be released is the 20-inch LC-20FE1 with built-in WiFi connectivity. The 20-inch TV features a 1366×767 LCD panel with 176/176-degree viewing angle, 400,000:1 contrast ratio, LED-backlight and Sharp’s unique UVA photo-alignment technology. It is equipped with 4Wx2 speakers

Sharp releases the new AQUOS Quattron LED LC-70LE732U 70-inch LED-backlit LCD HDTV, which is the largest LCD TV on the market with 62% more viewing area than a 55-inch model. The 70-inch TV features Full HD 1080 X-Gen LCD Panel, UltraBrilliant full-array LED backlighting, and 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced.

Sharp ships its AQUOS Quattron LE830 Series LED-backlit LCD HDTVs that come in 40-inch, 46-inch, 52-inch and 60-inch screen sizes. The LE830 series features Sharp’s Quad Pixel Technology that adds the color Y (yellow) to the three colors of R (red), G (green), and B (blue) of the traditional television pixel structure to deliver better color reproduction.

Sharp released in China the SH7218U, a clamshell Android smartphone, which is China version of the NTT docomo Sharp SH-01B. While the first Android clamshell we’ve seen, the Samsung W899, has dual Super AMOLED touchscreens, Sharp’s phone has a rotating 3.4-inch 480 x 854 Mobile ASV touchscreen with multitouch and a 1.4-inch 192×64 OLED external display for showing call ID and phone status. The SH7218U packs a 8 Megapixel camera with LED flash. There is also Side Illumination with a flashing LED light.

Sharp announced in Japan the new ultra slim AQUOS BD-AV70 3D Blu-ray recorder/player that is just 35mm thick. The device not only supports 3D Blu-ray playback, it can also record up to 87 hours of video onto a BDXL disc.

KDDI au and Sharp are going to release in November the new IS03 Android mobile phone that features a 3.5-inch 960×640 ASV touchscreen, like the Retina Display on the iPhone 4. The IS03 is a smartphone running Android 2.1 with a customized UI.

Sharp Galapagos 5.5-inch

Sharp announced in Japan its Galapagos series color e-book readers, the 5.5-inch Mobile model with a 1024×600 screen and the 10.8-inch Home with 1366×768 screen. Both devices support WiFi 802.11b/g. Over 30,000 newspapers, magazines and books will be released alongside with the Galapagos readers in December.

Sharp announced the AQUOS Quattron 3D LE925 series 3D HDTVs for the US market. Two models will be released, the 60-inch LC-60LE925UN and the 52-inch LC-52LE925UN, both employ “Sharp’s breakthrough quad pixel technology and additional proprietary technologies, including the X-Gen LCD panel, Frame Rate Enhanced Driving and LED backlight side-mount scanning, to deliver a superior 3D experience.”
