Olympus STYLUS TOUGH-6020 Blue

Olympus introduces STYLUS TOUGH-8010 and TOUGH-6020, two new ultra rugged digital cameras. Like the new FujiFilm XP10, these cameras are ‘four-proof’ -  Shockproof, Waterproof, Crushproof and Freezeproof. They both have 14 Megapixel sensor, 28mm wide angle lens with 5x optical zoom and 2.7-inch LCD screen.

FujiFilm unviles the FinePix XP10 (aka XP11), a compact ergonomic digital camera that is ‘Four-Proof’ – Waterproof up to 10 feet, Shockproof up to 3 feet, Freezeproof up to 14°F and Dustproof. Based on the design of FinePix Z33WP, the XP10 is housed in a metal uni-body chassis with a tactile grip finish.

Panasonic announced the Lumix DMC-TS2 (DMC-FT2), the company’s second rugged digital camera designed for active outdoor use, following the DMC-TS1/DMC-FT1. The new TS2 further strengthens its toughness and is waterproof to 33 feet (10m), shockproof to 10 feet (2m), freezeproof to 14-degree F (-10-degree C) and dustproof.

Casio announced the new EX-G1, which is the first model in the company’s new EXILIM G line. The G1 is shock-resistant, waterproof, dustproof digital camera and measures just 0.78-inch, making it the world’s slimmest shock-proof camera.

Pentax has just announced the Optio W80 rugged digital camera that is not only waterproof but also dustproof, coldproof, and shockproof enough to withstand impact from a fall of one meter. …

Canon introduces the PowerShot D10, an all-around waterproof, freeze proof and shockproof camera, which is the first of its kind for Canon. The PowerShot D19 is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, optical stabilization, 4x digital zoom, ISO up to 1600, and a 2.5-inch LCD screen.

Olympucs launches the new STYLUS-550WP, a shockproof and waterproof digital camera. Thanks to the waterproofing technology adopted from Olympus’ Stylus Tough series, the STYLUS-550WP allows you to take photos as deep as 10 feet underwater (Equivalent to IEC60529 IPX8/JISC0920 (10ft/3m)).

Panasonic presents the Lumix DMC-TS1, the world’s first waterproof, shockproof and dustproof digital camera. Like the ZS3, the Lumix TS1 has AVCHD Lite 720p High Definition (HD) video recording capabilities. It is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with a 28mm wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR 4.6x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD display.
