Motorola brings the new DEFY XT535 rugged smartphone for consumers with an active lifestyle in China. The new model is relatively more stylish than its DEFY brothers but retains its ruggedness. China Telecom is launching the Samsung Galaxy S II DUOS SCH-i929, a dual-network variant of the Galaxy S II. The phone supports both CDMA EVDO Rev.A and GSM mobile networks and is capable of dual-standby. The i929 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM and runs Android 2.3 with TouchWiz 4.0 user interface.

AT&T launched Samsung’s Rugby Smart, a rugged smartphone with support for HSPA+ 4G mobile network. The handset meets the MIL-STD 810F military spec standards, which is IP67 waterproof down to 1 meter for 30 minutes, dustproof and can withstand extreme temperatures.

Virgin Mobile, Sprint’s prepaid brand, launches the new Alcatel One Touch Venture entry-level Android smartphone. The handset has a similar design as Motorola’s Droid Pro, featuring a bar-type form factor with QWERTY keyboard. It is boosted by a 600MHz processor with 512MB RAM and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

Sprint launches a new budget-friendly Android smartphone, the ZTE Fury, which is a full-featured device “ideal for families who want the convenience and connectedness of a smartphone at an accessible price point”. The Fury sports a 3.5-inch 480×320 capacitive IPS touchscreen display, a 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash, and 4GB onboard storage.

Samsung brings a new affordable Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy Pocket running Android 2.3 OS. The entry-level handset boasts a 823Mhz processor and comes with 3GB user memory. It features a 2.8-inch LCD 240×320 touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel fixed focus camera, A-GPS support, Bluetooth 3.0, FM radio and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity.
