Sony STR-DA5500ES Elevated Standard Receiver

Sony adds to its flagship ES (Elevated Standard) range two new AV receivers, the STR-DA5500ES and STR-DA3500ES, replacing the DA5400 and DA3400. Both devices come with HD Digital Cinema Sound capability and supports all the current high-definition video and audio formats on Blu-ray Disc, including 1080/24p, x.v. Colour, Deep Colour and Dolby True HD/DTS-HD.

Sony Europe introduces the BDP-S760 Blu-ray Disc player with integrated WiFi-n, like the BDP-S560. Thanks to the wireless connectivity, users can easily access interactive content offered by BD-Live and run firmware updates for your player via the Internet.

Sony BDP-CX7000ES 400-disc Blu-ray MegaChanger

Sony announced three new Blu-ray multimedia devices, the BDP-CX960 and BDP-CX7000ES 400-dics Blu-ray Disc MegaChangers and the BDP-S1000ES Blu-ray player. The latter two models with ES are built to high-quality “Elevated Standard” (ES)  standards.

Sony is planning to launch two new Blu-ray multi-disc systems, the BDP-CX960 and BDP-CX7000ES (Elevated Standard) with 200 and 400 disc capacity respectively. They are likely to have Blu-ray Profile 2.0 support and are HDNA compliant. Details of these mega player are not known yet.

Sony announced the STR-DA6400ES and the STR-DA5400ES A/V receivers that comes with a CAT5e port that allows the devices to provide high-definition video to a second room.

They are compatible with Blu-ray Disc format and supports 1080/24p video signals and Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS High Resolution Audio and DTS HD Master Audio codecs. They have the Faroudja DCDi Cinema chip for 1080p upscaling via HDMI.
