Sony has now officially announced its VAIO Type U handheld PC. The VGN-UX50 measures only 150.2x95mm/100.5×23.2mm and weighs 520g.

It is powered by a Core Solo U1300 1.06Ghz CPU (UX50) or a Core Solo U1400 1.2Ghz CPU (UX90), a 20 or 30GB HDD and it has a a QWERTY keyboard, a 4.5″ WSVGA 1024×600 touch screen, a 1.3MP camera and webcam, Wireless a/b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, CF and MS slot

Sony said on Monday that it planned to sell the 20GB model of its PlayStation 3 $499 USD and 60GB model for $599 USD. The PlayStation 3 is set to be launch in Japan in November 11 and in N.America and Europe in November 17.

According to DigiTime, King Yuan Electronics Company (KYEC), a chip testing firm, should start landing PS3 chip testing orders from next week as to boost the company’s revenues.

The Sony Portable Reader System PRS-500 has finally been placed on Sony Store’s e-merchant portal though still on pre-order. Sony’s PRS-500 is the first 4-shade e-ink reading device.

Sony is going to release it E series Network Walkman in late April in Europe. The E series has 1GB of storage, an OLED screen, supports MP3, WMA, ATRAC files, USB 2.0. It can run for 27-28 hours when the rechargeable battery is fully charged.

The device can read DVD+/-R/RW, DVD+R/-RW DL and also MP3/JPEG files in CD-R/RW. It has a 7-inch (480×234) display, an integrated Dolby Digital/DTS decoder and a 450mW 2ch speakers and it will come with a remote control.

Sony announces it new 7.2 megapixel T30 Ultra Compact Digital Camera. The camera has 3x optical zoom, 58MB internal memory, a 3-inch display, ISO 800 / 1000 levels, a 420 shot battery and it supports Memory Stick Duo (and Pro Duo) cards. It also features the same sliding lens cover mechanism that you may have seen in T9. The camera will be available in back or silver colors. It is expected to release in May with price around $500. Sony China announces its new CE-P series of Walkman MP3 player. The CE-P series, which is the first model designed by Sony China Creative Center, feature a 1.5-inch 260k colors OLED display. It features MP3/WMA playback, lyric display, built-in FM tuner, FM recording, voice recording, BMP/JPEG display and calendar.
