ZTE Skate Acqua

At the MWC 2012, ZTE introduces four new smartphones that are heading to the Europe market, including the Skate Acqua, Kis, Blade II and the previously announced Mimosa X. All these phones use Android 4.0 Ice Cream operating system and will come with ZTE’s Mifavor custom user interface. All these smartphones support Bluetooth and WiFi and offers Dolby sound and HD Voice.

As the follow-up to the Captivate, AT&T and Samsung are planning to launch the new Captivate Glide Android smartphone with side-slide QWERTY keyboard. The new device supports AT&T’s 4G HSPA+ 21 Mbps (Category 14) for fast data connection. It is boosted by a 1GHz Tegra 2 AP20H dual-core processor with 1GB RAM, 1GB ROM and runs Android 2.3.

Sprint is going to release Motorola’s PHOTON 4G Android smartphone on 31 July. As Sprint’s first international 4G smartphone, the PHOTON 4G supports not only the carrier’s WiMAX 4G and CDMA EVDO network, but also quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band WCDMA 3G network, making it a true global phone. The phone will be available for 199.99 with two-year service agreement.

Chinese phone maker K-Touch has introduced its W700, an Android smartphone powered by dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. The W700 runs Android 2.2 with 512MB RAM and 8GB internal memory. It comes with a 3.8-inch 480×800 capacitive touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera with 720p video recording and a 0.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat.

T-Mobile announced the LG G2x Android smartphone, which is known elsewhere in the world as the LG Optimus 2X. The G2x is boosted by the dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz processor and runs a stock version of Android 2.2 OS, meaning no LG custom UI is added.

After the early hands-on, LG’s dual core Optimus 2X / Star has also been previewed by engadget. The phone has LG’s customized UI that looks like the combination of iOS, HTC Sense and Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0. It also has an iOS-like virtual keyboard. LG officially announced the Optimus 2X P990 (aka LG Star), the world’s first dual-core smartphone, sporting a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor running at 1GHz. With a dual-core processor, the Optimus 2X is going to offer faster, smoother web browsing and applications and lets users multitask with virtually no screen lag.

This is LG’s next flagship, the Star powered by Tegra 2 dual core 1GHZ processor and running Android 2.3 (when it is released). Though the Star has not been announced, GSM-Israel has a 7-min hands-on video on the phone, which is embedded after the cut:

Gizmodo has posted several photos of Motorola’s Olympus MB860 Android device. It is said the the Olympus is powered by Tegra 2 processor and runs Android 2.2. The phone looks bigger than the DEFY and will probably have a screen larger than 3.7-inch.
