Toshiba announced the Portege Z830 series, its first Ultrabook powered by 2nd gen Intel Core processors. The new Ultrabook is just 0.63-inch (15.9mm) thick and weighs less than 2.5 pounds, making it about 20 percent lighter and 40 percent thinner than the ultraportable Portégé R830 Series. It has magnesium alloy chassis with honeycomb structure for rigidity.

Toshiba is planning to bring a new 3D notebook to the market, the Qosmio X770 3D, according to Notebook Italia. The new notebook will include NVIDIA 3D Vision technology and come with a 3D webcam for capturing 3D images.

Along with the Tecra R840 and Tecra R850, Toshiba introduces also the new Portege R830 series ultraportable notebook, which is built on the Portege R700. As the latest addition to the Portege family, the R830 continues to be the world’s lightest 13.3-inch full-performance ultraportable laptop featuring an integrated DVD drive.

Toshiba introduces new Tecra range business notebooks that have reengineered from the ground up with thin, light and highly-durable designs. According to Toshiba, the Tecra R840 is about 25 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than its predecessor, Tecra M11; and the Tecra R850 is about 19 percent thinner and 6 percent lighter than its predecessor, the Tecra A11.

Toshiba introduces the Portege R700, the world’s lightest 13.3-inch full-performance ultraportable laptop with an integrated DVD drive. Powered by Intel’s Core series processor, the Portege R700 is equipped with DDR3 memory, built-in DVD burner, an ExpressCard slot, two USB 3.0 ports, an eSATA/USB combo port and HDMI output.

As reported before, Toshiba introduces its dual screen libretto W100, the next-gen ultra mobile concept PC that “goes beyond slates and netbooks”. The W100 is basically an ultra compact netbook equipped with two 7-inch multitouch displays with 1024×600 resolution. The bottom screen can be used as a virtual keyboardor virtual touchpad with haptic feedback . Six keyboard modes are provided such as simple, full, numeric 10-key and split thumb.
