Toshiba announced the Portege Z830 series, its first Ultrabook powered by 2nd gen Intel Core processors. The new Ultrabook is just 0.63-inch (15.9mm) thick and weighs less than 2.5 pounds, making it about 20 percent lighter and 40 percent thinner than the ultraportable Portégé R830 Series. It has magnesium alloy chassis with honeycomb structure for rigidity.

Along with the Tecra R840 and Tecra R850, Toshiba introduces also the new Portege R830 series ultraportable notebook, which is built on the Portege R700.
