Toshiba introduces new Tecra range business notebooks that have reengineered from the ground up with thin, light and highly-durable designs. According to Toshiba, the Tecra R840 is about 25 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than its predecessor, Tecra M11; and the Tecra R850 is about 19 percent thinner and 6 percent lighter than its predecessor, the Tecra A11.

Toshiba announced its first family of self-encrypting hard disk drives, the MKxx61GSYG Series with the Wipe Technology, which allows users to determine a range of security settings, including invalidation of encryption keys and data invalidation when a drive is removed from its housing or connected to an unauthorized host system.

Toshiba announced in Europe two new Camileo pocket camcorders, the P100 and B10, both support Full HD video recording. The P100, comes with an ergonomic ‘pistol grip’ and powerful optical zoom, is an ideal all-round companion for any occasion, while the B10 is a bar-type camcorder “targeted at active, sporty people; adventure travellers; the young and the young-at-heart.”
