While ZTE has the ultra thin Era, another Chinese company Huawei also announced its quad-core smartphones, the Ascend D quad series. Boosted by Huawei’s K3V2 quad-core processor, the Ascend D quad comes with Android 4.0 ICS. It features a 4.5-inch 720p HD touchscreen with 330dpi density for clear display, and is equipped with 32-bit true color graphics processor.

Along with the Xperia P, the Xperia U, announced at the MWC 2012, is another new addition to Sony’s Xperia NXT series, joining the Xperia S. The Xperia U is powered by the same STE NOVATHOR U8500 dual-core 1GHz processor as the P and gets 512MB RAM and 8GB internal storage. It features a 3.5-inch 854×480 Reality Display with BRAVIA Engine and a 5 Megapixel auto focuscamera with 720p HD video recording, LED flash, 3D Sweep panorama; and a front-facing camera.

Sony Mobile adds to its Xperia NXT series the new Xperia P that sits between the Xperia S and Xperia U. Basically, you can consider the P as the mid-range version of the Xperia S, but instead of plastic body the Xperia P gets a full full aluminum unibody design. Sony’s new smartphone is powered by a STE NOVATHOR U8500 dual-core 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and comes with 16GB onboard storage.

Two years before, Samsung bought the first Galaxy Beam, which was the first Android projector phone at that time. This year, at the MWC 2012, Samsung announced its newest projector phone, the dual-core Galaxy Beam smartphone which is the world’s slimmest of its kind. This newly announced, refreshed, dual-core Gaalxy Beam has integrated projector with 15 lumens brightness to deliver HD images of up to 50-inch wide.

In addition to the high-end 4-core One X, mid-range One V, HTC also brings the One V smartphone for the masses. The One V utilizes the classic design of the company’s Legend and Hero featuring an iconic unibody design. The phone is boosted by a single-core 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM. It comes with 4GB onboard storage and supports microSD/SDHC cards.

While the One X is a quad-core powerful phone, its brother One S is “for people who want a high-end smartphone in a more compact size.” Boosted by Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, the One S runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4 with 1GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The handset also has a metal unibody with a ultra slim 7.9mm design, making it HTC’s thinnest phone yet. It is the mid-range model in the One Series, sitting between the 4-core One X and the single-core One V.

The HTC One X is the quad-core member in the company’s newest One family of smartphones. The device is housed in a “beautifully crafted polycarbonate unibody that has the ruggedness of metal but is super lightweight.” The unibody has seamless construction and a high gloss piano finish and a matte back.
