Samsung officially announced the Pixon, a touchscreen phone with 8 Megapixel camera. The Pixon is the world’s slimmest full-touch 8-megapixel camera phone, measuring 13.8mm thick.

Samsung Pixon features a 3.2-inch full touchscreen, Bluetooth 2.0, integrated media player, FM tuner, the latest TouchWiz OS, 200MB internal memory and a microSD card slot. Samsung Pixon’s 8 Megapixel camera offers 16x digital zoom, auto focus, fast-shutter, face detection, geo-tagging function and Advanced Shake Reduction. The camera can also capture 720×480 videos at 30fps or QVGA clips at 120fps.

Samsung is going to ship in November its M8800, aka Pixon or Bresson, touchscreen mobile phone. Samsung M8800 is one of the Koran cell maker’s 8 Megapixel camera phone, the other one is the Samsung i8510 …

This is Samsung’s D980 or D988 mobile phone that offers two SIM card slots. The phone is just a modified version of the Samsung F480/488 touchscreen phone.

Samsung launches the SGH-F488 (aka F480) touchscreen phone in Taiwan market. The Samsung SGH-F488/F480 features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 5 Megapixel camera and 0.3 Megapixel front camera for video calls.

The F488 is a 3G phone and supports HSDPA 7.2Mbps high speed data. The integrated media player supports MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and FM tuner with RDS. F488′s 5 Megapixel camera supports auto focus, smile detection, electronic stabilization and MP4 video recording.

The SGH-F488 features Samsung’s TouchWiz widget-based UI, which we have seen before. The touchscreen phone has 250MB internal memory and supports microSDHC up to 8GB.

Here is a video preview on Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. Samsung’s F480, currently running the Croix UI is expected to upgrade to the TouchWiz UI while the F490 will also run the new TouchWiz UI.
