What you see above is a new product from SmartDevices, the company behind SmartQ MIDs. This new SmartQ R7 is a 7-inch mobile internet device with e-reader function. It features a 7-inch 800×600 touchscreen, built-in 3G connectivity and support for 1080p video playback.

Sharp NetWalker PC-T1 Ubuntu Tablet Device

Shapr introduces its second NetWalker tablet device, the model PC-T1 with a 5-inch 1024×600 LED-backlit touchscreen. As its name, NetWalker, suggests, the series is design as a mobile internet device. Unlike its brother PC-Z1, the T1 has no QWERTY keyboard.

Sharp introduces in Japan the new NetWalker line of smartbook and the first model being introduced is the PC-Z1 that runs Ubuntu. The clamshell style NetWalker PC-Z1 has a 5-inch touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard.

Though not yet been released, some guys in Hong Kong are able to get an unit of the SmartQ 5 MID. As mentioned before, the SmartQ 5 MID has a 4.3-inch touchscreen and WiFi. It supports 3G HSDPA USB modem. The MID runs Ubuntu Linux.

We have mentioned last week that the SmartQ 5 MID is going to run Ubuntu Linux, and now here are some details of the MID. The SmartQ 5 is powered by an ARM11 667MHz processor, 1GB storage with 256MB available to user. It has a 4.3-inch 800×480 LCD display, Bluetooth and SD/SDHC card slot.
