Kohjinsha shows at the CEATEC Japan 2009 its new PA-series UMPC/tablet PC. The device features a 4.8-inch 1024×600 swivel touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard. The ultra portable UMPC is powered by Intel’s Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor, 512MB RAM and a 320GB SSD.

The OQO Model 2+ UMPC is an update to the Model 2. The Model 2+ is powered by Intel’s Atom Z540 1.86GHz or Z520 1.33GHz processor, up to 2GB of RAM, 120GB hard drive or 60GB SSD. It comes with a 5-inch OLED touchscreen, backlit thumb keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth and optional Gobi 3G mobile broadband module (EV-DO and HSPA).

Korean company UMID presents the F1 UMPC that comes with support for HSDPA and WiBro (WiMAX) connectivity. The F1 is powered by a VIA C7-M 1.2GHz processor, 512MB/1GB of RAM, and 30GB/60GB hard drive. You can see some live shots after the cut.

Clipset gives us a hands-on look at the Samsung Q1 Ultra UMPC. The Samsung Q1 Ultra is powered by an Intel CPU, 1GB of DDR2 RAM. It supports HSDPA, WiBro, Bluetooth and SD cards. It has a 7-inch LCD display with 1024×600 resolution.

The Samsung Q1 Ultra has full QWERTY keyboard and it runs the Windows Vista Home Premium.

Here is a hands-on video on the Mo-bits VX3 UMPC. The Mo-bits VX3 UMPC is powered by a VIA C7-M 1200MHz processor, 1GB RAM, 40GB hard drive. It supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g, USB 2.0, a memory card reader and has a 7-inch touchscreen LCD display.

Here is a video preview on the Gigabyte U60 UMPC. The Gigabyte U60 is powered by a VIA C7-M 1GHz processor, 768MB RAM, 80GB hard drive. U60 offers also a 6.5-inch TFT LCD display, a sliding full QWERTY keyboard, built-in camera, memory card slot. Video after the jump. The U60 runs on the Windows Vista OS.
It seems the U60 will support UTMS.
The Gigabyte is expected to be mass produced in May and priced at about 1000.

Samsung announced its new UMPC Q1 Ultra at the CeBit. The Samsung Q1 Ultra is powered by an Intel CPU, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 7-inch LCD screen with 1024×600. The Q1 Ultra supports HSDPA, WiBro, Bluetooth 2.0, SD card slot and you may also want to get the fingerprint reader.

One of the features of the Q1 Ultra is the QWERTY keypad on the two sides of the LCD screen. The Q1 Ultra runs on the WIndows Vista Home Premium. It measures 227.5×123.9×23.9 and weights 690g.

Bill Gates shows OQO model 02 UMPC at the CES. The OQO model 02 UMPC has a VIA C7M ULV 1.2 GHz or 1.5GHz processor, 512MB or 1GB DDR2 RAM, a 30GB or 60GB hard drive. The OQO 02 comes with a 5-icch VGA LCD touchscreen, a new ergonomic backlit keyboard, EV-DO, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and A2DP support. Model 02 runs Windows Vista.

It has also HDMI output for connectivity to HDTV, VGA output, “DisplaySense for detection and recall of external display settings”.

OQO 02 measures 5.6″ x 3.3″ x 1.0″ for 1.0 lb and it will come with a docking station. The OQO 02 is now available with a price starting at $1,500.
