Dell announced at the CES 2012 its all-new XPS 13 Ultrabook, a 13.3-inch ultra slim laptop with an edge-to-edge, display. Thanks to the near-frameless display and slim bezel, Dell packs a 13.3-inch screen in similar size of an 11-inch product. HP announced the Folio 13, its first business Ultrabook with a thin and light design. According to HP, the new laptop offers up to 9 hours of battery life, the highest performance available among Ultrabook devices currently on the market. The 13.3-inch Ultrabook measures just 18mm thin and weighs only 3.3 pounds.

Toshiba announced the Portege Z830 series, its first Ultrabook powered by 2nd gen Intel Core processors. The new Ultrabook is just 0.63-inch (15.9mm) thick and weighs less than 2.5 pounds, making it about 20 percent lighter and 40 percent thinner than the ultraportable Portégé R830 Series. It has magnesium alloy chassis with honeycomb structure for rigidity.

Dell introduces the new Vostro V13 business notebook which is based on the design of the original Adamo 13 notebook. The V13 is “encased in high-quality brushed aluminum with reinforced zinc hinges ready for rough handling”. It is just 16.5mm thick and starts at 1.59kg.

Dell made its Latitude Z, the world’st thinnest, lightest 16-inch notebook PC for business users. The new CULV notebook has a lean, eye-catching design and soft-touch Black Cherry finish. The Latitude Z is boosted by either Intel Core 2 Duo SU9600 1.6GHz or a SU9400 1.4GHz processor, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM and Intel’s GMA 4500MHD graphics.
