Samsung and Verizon show us the new FlipShot SCH-U900 clamshell phone which features a 180-degree rotating screen. The Verizon FlipShot / Samsung SCH-U900 features a 3 Megapixel camera, integrated Business card scanner, Bluetooth, integrated media player and a microSD card slot.

Verizon shows us its fall line-up and LG Voyager is one of the 4 new phones. Verizon LG Voyager (aka VX10000) is a phone with 2 touchscreens, one on the outside and another in the inside. Voyager has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 2 Megapixel camera, integrated media player supporting MP3, WMA, AAC music files. It supports Verizon’s VCAST and has a SD card slot supporting up to 8GB of SD cards.

Verizon Wireless is going to offer the Motorola Q music 9m smartphone. Motorola Q music 9m is a smartphone running the Windows Mobile 6 OS and with EV-DO support. Motorola Q music 9m features a color LCD display,1.3 Megapixel camera with flash, a 2.5mm headphone jack and supports for miniSD cards up to 32GB.

Verizon introduces the G’zOne Type-S rugged phone which is produced by Casio. The Verizon G’zOne Type-S has a 1.8-inch 65k color TFT LCD display, a 1.3-inch Black and White STN secondary display, a 300K pixel CMOS digital camera with flash and digital zoom.

The Verizon G’zOne passed all the 4 tests of Water Resistance, Humidity, Drop and Dust Resistance. G’zOne Type-S is now available on Verizon for $149.99 after $50 rebate and a new two-year customer agreement.

Verizon offers the Samsung SCH-a930 cellphone which features a 260k color TFT LCD display, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth.

The Samsung SCH-a930 supports Verizon’s VCAST services which allow you to enjoy music or video directly from the network.

BrightHand has reviewed the Pantech PN-820 smartphone while PhoneScoop provides us a video preview on the phone.

The Pantech PN-820 is powered by an Intel XScale PXA270 312 MHz  processor, 64 MB RAM, 128 MB flash ROM.

The PN-820 has a 2.20-inch LCD display, an 1.1-inch external LCD display, Bluetooth and WiFi. The Pantech PN-820 runs the Windows Mobile 5 OS.

Conclusion from BrightHand:
If you must have a more traditionally designed Smartphone on Verizon, the Pantech is pretty much your only option. Otherwise, the Pantech PN-820 doesn’t really do anything that hasn’t been done elsewhere.

It’s not a bad device by any means, but EV-DO and the use of a MiniSD slot are its only substantial advantages over the slightly cheaper and much more stylish Cingular 3125.

Still, it’s good to see other manufacturers recognizing the need for quality clamshell smartphones, and the PN-820 is a better first effort than many.
