Sony announced at the CES its new Walkman Z1000 series Mobile Entertainment Players running Android OS. As Sony’s first MP3 player/PMP with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Walkman Z player is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. It has an anti-reflective 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD display.

Sony launches it’s new Walkman NWZ-W260 wearable, water-resistant music player. Ideal for fitness enthusiasts, the unit packs music player into a headphone, offering a lightweight, rinsable, wearable and water-resistant headphone-style design. Sony adds to its Walkman family the new ultra slim S750 that measures just 7.2mm thick. Housed in aluminium casing, the S750 has a metallic look. Sony Ericsson announced its first full touch Walkman phone that is called the Yendo that combines music, social networking and communication in one colourful phone. The phone includes the four-corner touch UI found on the Xperia X10 and X10 mini pro and comes with the Touch Walkman player, Touch TrackID and PlayNow functions.

Sony announced the limited edition Walkman W252 to celebrate the launch on PSP/PSP GO of the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Based on the W252 MP3 player, the MSG limited edition comes with a unique camouflage finish and is pre-loaded with six music tracks from the MSG: Peace Walker sound track.
