HTC J ISW13HT WiMAX Smartphone for KDDI au

KDDI au is going to release a new WiMAX Android smartphone, the HTC J (ISW13HT) running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8660A 1.5GHz processor and comes with 16GB of ROM. It has a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen display and a 8 Megapixel main camera and a 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat.

Sprint is going to release Motorola’s PHOTON 4G Android smartphone on 31 July. As Sprint’s first international 4G smartphone, the PHOTON 4G supports not only the carrier’s WiMAX 4G and CDMA EVDO network, but also quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band WCDMA 3G network, making it a true global phone. The phone will be available for 199.99 with two-year service agreement.

Sprint, Samsung and Google have partnered to bring the Nexus S 4G Android smartphone to the carrier’s WiMax 4G mobile network. This 4G version of Nexus S supports Sprint’s 4G WiMAX network, with peak download speeds of more than 10 Mbps; peak upload speeds of 1 Mbps; average download speeds of 3-6 Mbps, and CDMA EVDO Rev. A 3G network.
