TerreStar launches its Genus, the world’s first integrated cellular-satellite smartphone running WIndows Mobile 6.5 OS. Aim to bring satellite phone to the mainstream market the Genus is priced at $1,149.99. Looks just like an ordinary bar-type QWERTY smartphone, the Genus connects to both AT&T’s GSM / HSPA cellular network and TerreStar-1 satellite access.

Sharp announced in China two new smartphones running Windows Mobile 6.5, the SH80iUC and SH81iUC. Both phones are of slider style and are almost identical. They support WCDMA/HSDPA 3G and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks and the SH81iUC has dual SIM card slots, one for WCDMA/GSM and the other for GSM only.

Verizon Wireless announced the launch of the LG Fathom (VS750) QWERTY smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS with a 1GHz CPU. The side-slide mobile phone features a 3.2-inch touchscreen with tactile feedback, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2 Megapixel auto focus camera, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.

Other than the Sharp IS01, KDDI au is also launching the IS02 by Toshiba, which is also known as the K01 outside Japan. The IS02 is powered by a 1GHz SnapDragon processor, 384MB RAM and 512MB ROM. It runs Windows Mobile 6.5.3 and comes with a QWERTY keyboard.

Toshiba introduces the TG02 smartphone at the MWC 2010, which is basically the QWERTY-less version of the K01. As the successor to the TG01, the TG02 gets the same Qualcomm SnapDragon 1GHz processor. At just 9.9mm thick, the Toshiba TG02 features a 4.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, Windows Mobile 6.5 OS, a 3D menu system and a stylish design.
