Announecd along with Facebook Home is HTC‘ First, an Android smartphone comes pre-loaded with the Facebook Home. As you may know, the Facebook Home is a user interface layer developed by the social network for the Android operating system, intended to put your friends at the heart of your phone. It replaces the existing home screen with Cover Feed and displays Facebook notifications on the lock screen. The chat heads offers quick access to Facebook Messages and SMS.
Partnered with Facebook, HTC brings us the First, the first smartphone featuring Facebook Home integration. While Facebook Home is also available on other Android devices, the First features a deeper integration with certain system functions, such as the ability to display non-Facebook notifications on the lock screen. It runs Facebook Home on Android 4.1.
The Facebook phone is powered by a Qualcomm dual-core SnapDragon 400 1.4GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. It sports a 4.3-inch 1280x720p HD touchscreen display. For people who like to share photos, you can use the 5 Megapixel camera with BSI, F2.0 aperture to capture photos or Full HD 1080p video, and share them on Facebook. You may also use the pre-loaded Instagram for sharing. There is also a 1.6 Megapixel front-facing camera with ultra wide angle for taking self portraits. The phone supports AT&T 4G LTE network for high-speed data connection. Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/GLONASS, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, NFC connectivity are also included.
The HTC First has 16GB of internal storage. The phone ha a soft edges and will be avaiable in black, white, red and parl blue. It will be available on 12 April and you can pre-order now at AT&T for $99.99 with a 2-year contract.
